“Pinterest Perplexed as to Why Anyone is Using Pinterest”Posted: 2012/05/01
If you are unfamiliar with Pinterest and missed their coverage on Mashable, TechCrunch, CrazyTechWonder7′s Tumblr, CNN, or Cartoon Network, Pinterest allows users to share photos. That is pretty much it. Users can also comment on other user’s photos. But really, that is it…..
I’m liking this little satire tech blog.
Menlo Park, California – Just days after acquiring photo sharing app Instagram for $1 billion, Facebook has opened its checkbook again with a stupefying $2.5 billion purchase of long-defunct web hosting service GeoCities.
“GeoCities brings Facebook breakthrough technology, “ said CEO Mark Zuckerberg. “That whole ‘neighborhoods’ thing is so cool. My uncle had a GeoCities homepage on Area 51 and it rocked. We want to rock at Facebook.”
GeoCities co-founder David Bohnett was stunned to learn of the purchase. Contacted at the homeless encampment where he has lived since GeoCities went out of business in 2009, Bohnett bought a 12-pack of luke-warm PBR to celebrate his new fortune.
“I’m going to take a shower and get my teeth fixed, “ Bohnett said. “Then I’m going to find my old business partner John Rezner and tell him he’s a billionaire too. Last I heard he was squatting at a trailer park on some Indian reservation somewhere.”
The purchase of GeoCities shocked the investment community and left many scratching their heads.
