Last week, we talked about budgeting (oh, did we ever!), but this week, we’re going to rewind a step and look at one of the two major factors involved in budgeting: what you earn. Earning is a topic over which you may feel you can exert little control, but that’s not true. Even within most given fields, levels of education, location, and experiential tiers, there is room for negotiation on your salary. A number of things can influence it: let’s take a look.

Iran set to launch its own Internet

Of course all the speed in the world won’t help Iranians get onto some of the world’s most popular sites. Facebook and Twitter are, and will continue to be, blocked in the country, along with any opposition parties’ websites, and anything that is deemed morally or politically inappropriate.

All Google+ profiles going public

This change makes sense in the context of Google+ being a network that defaults to a ‘public’ setting, somewhat like Twitter. Anything that you share can be moderated to only appear to a member of the exact circles that you choose, but by default, everyone sees everything.
